There are 2 towns with the name Castle Pines: Castle Pines Village and The City of Castle Pines (previously known as the City of CastlePines North). Both of these and Castle Rock should be searched for homes for sale.

Castle Pines is located at an approximate elevation of 6,368 feet above sea level making it a bit cooler than Denver, 20 miles to the north. Castle Rock, the Douglas County Seat, is only a few miles away to the south. Golf courses are plentiful and easily accessed.

Originally a railroad town Castle Rock was incorporated in 1881. Aside from being the county seat of Douglas County down town's historic feel includes bullet holes from gunfights in the old west (check the B&B Cafe) and is now growing into a charming south Denver destination, complete with fine restaurants.

Both public and private exclusive golf courses surround the town for the golf enthusiast. Castle Rock lies at an elevation of 6,202 feet, in the Plum Creek Valley along Interstate 25 at the base of the Rocky Mountains.  It is halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs.

The City of Centennial sprawls across the south metro Denver suburbs in Arapahoe County and was incorporated in 2001 in large part to prevent further annexations of unincorporated areas by the City of Greenwood Village in an attempt to improve its tax base. The name reflects Colorado’s admission to the Union as the 38th state in 1876.

Upon incorporation the City boasted over 100,000 residents, some in the Cherry Creek School District and some in Littleton School District. Mailing addresses of “Aurora”, “Englewood” or “Littleton” may appear but are actually in Centennial. Hence home searches may be confusing.

Cherry Hills Village is one of the most affluent places in Colorado and the United States according to the 2010 US Census. The Cherry Hill Country Club hosted 2 PGA Championships (1941 & 1985) and the 2005 US Womens Open. An immediate suburb south of Denver, Englewood began when gold was discovered on Little Dry Creek in 1958. Greenwood Village was developed during the 1860s when settlers came from the east and mid-west looking for gold. By the early 1900s it had become a farming community and was named after Greenwood Ranch.

The narrow streets and the closness of the homes makes for a intimate community feel, while the ammenities cause the activities to be located close by.

The Highlands Ranch area of Eastridge is located south of C470, west of the City of Lone Tree, and east of Colorado Boulevard in unincorporated Douglas County CO. Eastridge contains some of the most mature areas of Highlands Ranch developed with homes dating from about 1987. Other portions are more recent and date from about 2001 to 2007. Eastridge is closest to I-25 and to the Park Meadows Mall.

The city of Littleton's history dates back to the 1858-1859 Gold Rush along the front range, which brought merchants and farmers to the community. Richard Sullivan Little was an engineer from New Hampshire who made his way out west to work on irrigation systems. Little quickly fell in love with the area that is present day Littleton and brought his wife Angeline out from the East in 1862. The Littles, along with many neighbors, built the Rough and Ready Flour Mill in 1867.  

Littleton's rich history can be seen in the architecture of the downtown buildings, from the old library (a Carnegie design I think) to the town hall where the fire engines and street equipment were on the main floor, and the light show in the trees at is a charming town.
